Description

Complementary feed for horses

Red is the liquid complementary feed based on vitamins and trace elements, such as, in particular, iron, cobalt, copper and manganese. Red contains highly bioavailable sources of all these elements that are, therefore, easily absorbed by the body. Red can be useful to provide vitamins and trace elements to horses suffering from vitamins and trace elements deficiency.

When to use Red

Red is the perfect complementary feed for all horses needing to supplement their diets with important trace elements, such as iron, copper, cobalt, zinc and manganese. Moreover, Red is also useful to enrich daily rations with important vitamins, such as vitamin A, vitamin E, vitamin B1, vitamin B6 and folic acid.
Red may help balance physiological levels of trace elements, which are fundamental for the body overall well-being, in the body. If horses have low levels of red blood cells, supplementation with sources of iron, folic acid, copper and zinc is recommended.
Red can also be useful in case horses are listless during training and competitions.

Properties of its constituents

Folic acid is a very important B-group vitamin, also known as folate or vitamin B9. It is contained in plants (spinaches, in particular, contain a great amount of it) but its natural chemical form is not much available for the body (50% of bioavailability) (70). Therefore, food composing horses’ rations cannot properly satisfy their needs of folic acid. Folic acid plays a fundamental role in red blood cells protection: that is why, nowadays, it is preferred to supplement sport horses’ diets with it.
Together with folic acid, Vitamin B12 is involved in DNA and RNA synthesis and plays an important role in maintaining proper nervous system and metabolism function and proper energy production (60).

Instructions for use

Use 30-50 ml of Red per day, for at least 25-30 days. Properly mix the product with the daily ration.

(Since each horse has its own peculiarities feeds and complementary feeds should always be introduced in its diet gradually).
