Description: Osteofoals is the complementary feed conceived to supplement broodmares’ and foals' diets with the proper amount of calcium, phosphorus and chelated trace elements. Osteofoals is formulated to supplement foals' dietary deficiencies, which cannot be counterbalanced by a hay and grains based diet.
When to use Osteofoals: Use Osteofoals to ensure foals a proper diet, supplemented with fundamental substances involved in developing healthy and strong skeleton and joints. It is recommended to administer Osteofoals to broodmares from the 7th month of pregnancy on and to foals until age 1.
Properties of its constituents: In foals, calcium, phosphorus and chelated trace elements help counteract the onset of osteochondrosis (32), typical consequences of low trace element diets and nutritional imbalances. Osteofoals contains calcium lactate, monocalcium phosphate and trace elements chelates of glycine, which increase the bioavailability and the absorption of each mineral element, including zinc, copper and manganese. Scientific researches show that foals' diets must include two essential trace elements in proper amounts: zinc and manganese, which are fundamental for bone and cartilage development. Particularly, manganese is indispensable in order to synthesize glycosaminoglycans (GAGs), which are crucial to develop healthy and strong joints. Manganese and zinc deficiencies cause skeletal malformations.
Use and dosage:
Mares in foal: From the 7th month of pregnancy on, administer 30-35 g of Osteofoals per day, properly mixed with the daily ration, for 6 months or a year.
Foals: Administer 30-50 g of Osteofoals per day, properly mixed with the daily ration, for 6 months or a year.
