Description: NODER is the complementary feed especially conceived to improve horses’ response to Culicoides bites: it makes horses’ sweat become smelly and keep the insects away. Hyposensitisation is, partially, due to the action of the officinal herbs and the nutritive substances reducing the risk of bites and, partially, to the presence of omega-3 fatty acids, which can reduce inflammations. Among these fatty acids, in men DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) can reduce symptomatology of local eczema (61), while EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) can reduce the level of leukotriene B4, a substance typically involved in inflammation (62). It goes the same for thromboxane A2. These fatty acids induce vasodilatation and inhibit the phenomena leading to inflammation.
When to use NODER: NODER is the perfect product to protect horses spending much time outdoors (grazing areas, paddock...) from spring on. It is very useful to administer NODER before the first symptoms of insect bites appear. Moreover, NODER is the perfect product for all horses who have been affected by sweet itch the previous year.
Properties of its constituents: The high concentration of omega-3 fatty acids and seaweeds allows the formation of a protective barrier against the bites of hematophagous insects. In fact, thanks to these substances the horse's sweat becomes unpleasant to Culicoides, thus keeping them away. Therefore, the obtained result is a reduction in and/or an inhibition of the risk of bites.
Use and dosage: Administer 100 g of NODER per day, properly mixed with the daily ration. If greater protection is required, it is suggested to increase the dose up to 200 g per day for at least 10-15 days. Then, go back to normal dose.
The capacity of a rounded full measuring scoop is 200 g.
This product does not cause any adverse reaction. Nevertheless, since every organism has its own peculiarities, dietary supplements, feeds and complementary feeds should always be introduced in a horse’s diet gradually, in order to evaluate the product’s effects on the horse.
